Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio, Inc. has been serving the local community for more than 100 years as an independent Goodwill affiliate. While most people recognize Goodwill as a retail thrift chain, that is only a portion of the Goodwill mission.
Goodwill does more than sell vintage clothing, and they needed a website to reflect their true impact on the community. Our web development goal was to tell the full story of Goodwill. We needed to show how one person’s donation of an old lamp means another person can afford to turn on their lights and turn their life in a new direction. We wanted to tell the story beyond the “stuff”.
Goodwill provided us with a bold color palette, our job was to utilize these colors in a fresh and engaging style that complied with the American Disabilities Act. Both the large photography and touching success story videos featured on the site highlight Goodwill's mission of giving back and show the hardworking people behind the organization.
The main navigation was broken down into three options: donate, shop, and services. Condensing Goodwill’s services into three categories creates a straightforward and streamlined user experience.
